The German intelligence service has received a hot tip that a German terrorist operation is taking place in Sweden. They are looking for a Swede who can infiltrate and neutralize the last active cell of the Red Army Faction. Carl Hamilton, with his leftist background, is the only possible candidate for the mission. The deadly mission takes him from Hamburg to Syria and Lebanon. He is forced to play his role so well that he sometimes doubts who he really is.
