A pool skimmer is an outlet that attaches to the side of the pool and ensures that the water is clean, clear and free of leaves, sticks, debris and other things floating on the surface. The water is drawn in via a side drain that goes towards the filtration and catches the kind of larger contaminants just mentioned. The skimmer basket should be cleaned periodically to ensure that water can flow freely through the system.
