Helle, heiress to the Viking kingdom of Volsung, was switched at birth with the son of her evil uncle Bard. Bard has managed to convince his brother, King Asmund, that a female heir will weaken the kingdom, but in reality he wants the throne himself. When Helle becomes a strong, brave and good woman, the king realizes his mistake. But before the truth can be revealed, Bard murders Asmund, blaming Helle for the king's death. Helle is now forced to reclaim the throne and fulfill her destiny.
