Elizabeth-R:
This 1971 BBC miniseries won 5 Primetime Emmys. Elizabeth, daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, was the last of the Tudor dynasty and ruled from 1558 to 1603 - a period that will always be remembered by posterity as the Golden Age. Elizabeth's reign not only brought England great wealth, but also a position as a world power. Starring Glenda Jackson as Queen Elizabeth I, a performance for which she won an Oscar.
Gunpowder, Treason & Plot:

Charles II – The Power and the Passion:
The dynamic King Charles II fostered the most witty and decadent royal court ever, while entertaining an impressive array of notable mistresses, from the erotic Barbara Villiers to the French spy Louise De Kérouaille. But first he spent several years in exile – penniless and powerless – while England suffered under the rule of Oliver Cromwell – the man responsible for the execution of Charles' father. He returned from exile and ruled the country for the next 25 years – a time that was to bring serious upheavals: the plague and, not least, the Great Fire that ravaged London, thinned the population, and England's forces were constantly reduced as a result of the wars with Holland and France. Rufus Sewell plays the lead role as Charles II.
