This is the story of the rise of the American military from the pre-World War I era, when the armed forces numbered only 100,000 men, to the mighty, industrial military machine that fights fascists around the world. This box set reveals what is at stake to keep this resource-intensive war machine running.
Disc 1: The Army
In the 1930s, the US Army had neither guns nor tanks. Soldiers marched with batons, but still managed to win battles.
Disc 2: The Air Force
Prior to World War I, the US Air Force was still flying over the enemy with outdated bi-planes.
Disc 3: The Navy
In Pearl Harbor, the wreckage smoldered, but the US Navy was ultimately victorious. This disc portrays the U.S. Navy and two wars at sea.
Disc 4: The Elite Soldiers
'U.S. The Marines are America's elite soldiers. A small special unit that is today considered one of the most feared combat units ever. The story tells how success could have ruined everything for the elite combat troops.
Disc 5: The Coast Guard
The US Coast Guard was the first to encounter foreign military forces in World War II, when in 1942 a German submarine with saboteurs was discovered off the coast of New Jersey
