Where Once We Walked - TV series in 6 episodes:
Where Once We Walked is a story about young people, passion and love. The events of the 6-episode TV series take place in the years 1906-1931. A period that includes both World War I and the Finnish Civil War, conflicts between the Whites and the Reds, war, love and the fate of people.
The series is based on Kjell Westö's famous novel, which won the Finlandia Prize in 2006. As in all of Westö's novels, Helsinki plays a central role in Where Once We Walked.
The film version:
Lucie is a young woman with a great appetite for life. She grows up in Helsinki at the beginning of the 20th century. Helsinki is divided into two separate cities - the upper class part, where no one lacks for anything, and the lower class part, where life is a long struggle for survival. Lucie comes from a wealthy family, but she refuses to be what everyone else expects of her.
Where Once We Walked is a dramatic portrayal of the incredible fates of people in a city on the brink of collapse.
