Blackbird is about Lily (Susan Sarandon), who has been diagnosed with ALS, a terrible disease that slowly destroys her nervous system until she dies. Lily doesn't want to wait for that, so she invites the family up to her summer house to say a proper goodbye, before her husband (Sam Neill) will assist her with active euthanasia. If the story sounds familiar, it's because it's a remake of Bille August's Stille hjerte, starring Ghita Nørby.
