The Battle of Neretva is one of the most famous works produced by the Yugoslav film industry.
In January 1943, Hitler ordered the final annihilation of the Yugoslav Partisans.
Together with thousands of refugees, the Partisans set out on a journey north and the only remaining bridge over the treacherous Neretva Gorge in the Bosnian mountains to safety.
The Battle of Neretva is known as the Fourth Offensive, the most humane battle of World War II, led by the Yugoslav Partisans.
