The Butler
You see nothing and you hear nothing. You just have to serve. With those words, Cecil Gaines begins his long career in Det Hvide Hus. In the years 1957-1986, Cecil managed to serve as butler for seven presidents and witnessed major upheavals in American race politics. The loyal Cecil comes very close to power during several dramatic events in world history and at the same time fights on the home front with an erratic wife and two sons, who in their own way throw themselves into the race-political struggle with major consequences.
