Two cowboys in their early 20's must look after a herd of plump sheep grazing through a winter season at the foot of Brokeback Mountain in the Puritan USA. We are writing in 1963, and it is not exactly good to show homosexual tendencies, which does not prevent the two men from falling in love with each other and starting a secret relationship that will last for almost two decades.
Ang Lee has directed the film, which no film company wanted to make, and which should have been a resounding financial fiasco. The fact that you are talking about a heartbreaking, compassionate near-masterpiece has nothing to do with the matter.
