Leo Macias writes sentimental short stories with great success, but hides behind a pseudonym: Amanda Gris. In her own life, however, there is not at all the romance that her stories are littered with.
WHAT HAVE I DONE FÖR ATT FÖRTJÄNA DETTA? / WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS? (1984)
A completely brilliant comedy about a chaotic working-class family in a very cramped apartment in Madrid. Gloria is a housekeeper and married to Antonio, who works as a taxi driver and idolizes an old German singer whom he used to drive. One of the teenage sons wants heroin and the other sleeps with older men. The mother-in-law hides the even drinkable water but sometimes sells it to the family. Yolanda leaves the monastery and is allowed to live temporarily with the marquis.
KIKA (1993)
Kika is the name of a fun-loving makeup artist in Madrid. That she is also on the verge of a nervous breakdown is easy to understand. Her husband films her secretly from the neighbor's house, she sleeps with her husband's stepfather, her lesbian housekeeper is in love with her, she gets raped for a whole morning by the housekeeper's developmentally disabled brother and also some corpses float up in her life.
TALK TO HER / TALK TO HERE (2002)
Tala med henne is about the friendship between the male nurse Benigno and the Argentinian journalist Marco, who meet at a dance performance. Benigno takes care of the dancer Alicia, who has been in a coma for four years after a car accident. But Alicia is not just any patient for Benigno. Before she was injured, he used to study her from a distance from his balcony when she practiced at a nearby dance school. ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER (1999)
Manuela (Cecilia Roth) lives alone with her son Esteban (Eloy Azorín). She gives her son a theater ticket as a 17th birthday present.
