To celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary, Gerda and Kristoffer go to Rome for a long weekend. Gerda went to art school here as a young person, while it is the first visit for Kristoffer, who does not bother with culture in vain. They unexpectedly meet Johannes, Gerda's charismatic artist from before, and she soon sets out in the eternal city in search of the experiences of her youth. Kristoffer feels left out, and does not know that Gerda and Johannes had a relationship when she was his student. Can she resist temptation in a Rome that suddenly feels synonymous with romance?
