Couch in New York, A:
Beatrice (Juliette Binoche) swaps apartments for a while with the strict American psychoanalyst Henry (William Hurt). Henry will live in her bohemian apartment in Paris, while she will live in his exclusive apartment in Manhattan, New York. The two do not meet until Henry – after being overrun by Beatrice's suitors – decides to go home early. And something has really happened here! Not only have his previously depressed patients become both happy and well-balanced, but his dog is also in a noticeably better mood. He decides to trick Beatrice into revealing her secret and pretends to be one of his own patients. And it is not long before romance begins to blossom.
